Overview

When it comes to fly tying bobbins, folks say a smooth gliding spool is essential, and that's why they love Griffin's super glide nylon beads, ceramic inserts, and high quality stainless steel construction. Whether its small flies or large flies and streamers, Griffin offers the ideal fly tying bobbin solution for every need. All our fly tying bobbins are highly polished, and all burrs and rough edges are removed to ensure that each bobbin is totally smooth and a pleasure to use. Designed for easier threading and reduced wax build-up, Griffin bobbins surpass all others, ensuring you get the absolute best fly tying bobbins at the most competitive price. Smooth operating, durable Griffin bobbins feature high quality, well finished stainless steel limbs and tubes. The nylon spool bearing beads are some of the the smoothest gliding spools ever. These models will cover all your fly tying needs. They feature a ceramic insert ring, which is completely protected by the flared stainless steel barrel. Ceramic is smoother and more abrasion resistant than any metal. Stainless steel is more durable under impact and has more tensile strength than other material. The inside barrel diameter is a full 1/16" for extra rigidity and easy threading.

The Magnum heavy duty 3 1/4" bobbin features double reinforced bands with the ceramic insert. It is flared on the infeed end.

The 4" Supreme is the workhorse of the tying industry, combining the durability of stainless steel tube with the ceramic insert and nylon beads.
